Out and About

We are ideally situated for easy access to areas of outstanding natural beauty within the Peak District. Destinations such as Dovedale, Ladybower Reservoir, Monsal Head, Mam Tor and Wynnats Pass are just some of the “must-sees”

Derbyshire has a number of historical great houses, including, Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Hardwick Hall and Bolsover Castle.

The industrial heritage of the area can be seen throughout the Derwent Valley particularly Arkwrights Mill at Cromford.

The surrounding towns and villages are also worth a visit. The opera house at Buxton, the crooked spire of Chesterfield, the farmers market in Bakewell and Eyam, the plague village.

Derbyshire also has a growing reputation for local food and drink – Bakewell pudding, Hartington Stilton and even a microbrewery at the Old Poets Corner in the next village.

…and don’t forget the well dressings!
